What’s the difference between Breeders Purse and Stakes Purse classes?

Breeders Purse classes are tied to the foal’s breeding year and only eligible to nominated foals born in that year. Stakes Purse classes are open to any age of nominated horse and are funded through the annual Stallion Service Sale.

How do I know which classes my foal is eligible for?

Breeders Purse eligibility is based on your foal’s nomination year. Stakes Purse eligibility depends on whether your horse was nominated and if the class is open to their age group and discipline. Check our event pages for details.

Can my foal be eligible for both Breeders and Stakes Purse classes?

Yes! A single nomination makes your foal eligible for both types of classes—provided they meet the class criteria and age requirements.

Do I have to nominate my foal each year?

No. Super Sires foal nomination is a one-time process that provides lifetime eligibility for both Breeders and Stakes Purse classes.

What if I missed the foal nomination deadline?

Late nominations may be accepted with an additional fee. Visit our Nominate a Foal page for current deadlines and fees.

Can a foal sired by a deceased or inactive Super Sire still be nominated?
Yes. As long as the stallion was enrolled during the breeding year and the foal meets eligibility criteria, they can still be nominated.
Where can I see the class schedule and payouts?

You can find full class schedules, entry information, and payout details on our Upcoming Events and Past Results pages.
