FOR HORSEMEN

A: Super Sires was started by horsemen who wanted to reward and promote Non-Pro riders with large purses and give mare owners a great way to market their foals. Super Sires has continued to grow thanks to dedicated volunteers and innovative thinkers behind the scenes. *Super Sires became a Not for Profit (501 c5) in 2020.

A: Super Sires Executive Committee is made up of industry professionals with extensive years of experience and a passion for the industry. They are all respected horsemen and horsewomen who donate their time to give back to the industry.   The Executive Committee meets at least once a month via conference call and in person to discuss new ideas for the Super Sires Program. You can learn more about the Executive Committee on the ABOUT page.

A: No, Executive Committee members do not receive compensation. They volunteer their time and expertise to the Super Sires program.

A: YES! All Super Sires classes are NSBA approved! All earnings are reported to NSBA, AQHA and Robin Glenn.

A: Stallion owner benefits include, but are not limited to:

  • Marketing online via social media, the Super Sires website, and Champion Horse Sales (Super Sires Stallion Service Sale);
  • Marketing in person at major events and venues throughout the year;
  • Opportunity for large increase in offspring earnings;
  • Five (5) FREE weanling Nominations annually;
  • One (1) FREE class entry annually; and
  • 10% of purse money is allocated to the stallion owners with offspring earnings.
A: Super Sires Stallion Enrollment Fees are paid annually and fund BREEDERS PURSE classes. The annual fee is $3,500 plus one donated breeding. Grandfathering Enrollment Fees vary (see STALLION ENROLLMENT FORM on our FORMS page.) Annual Enrollment Fees include the following:

  • $3,000 – Enrollment Fee – 100% goes toward BREEDERS PURSES;
  • $500 – Administrative Fee – Pays Executive Director salary; and
  • Donated Breeding– Funds STAKES PURSES, covers office expenses, marketing, etc.

A: Easy enough…. if you own 50% or more of the stallion, just complete the STALLION ENROLLMENT FORM on our FORMS page and return it to the address listed with your payment. When the enrollment fees are paid, your stallion becomes a Super Sire.

Yes! Grandfathering stallions pay the same fee(s) that enrolled stallions paid for the specific foal crops. The options for grandfathering can be found on the Super Sires STALLION ENROLLMENT FORM on our FORMS page.

A: Super Sires offers a discounted annual Enrollment Fee to deceased stallions. If a stallion has been enrolled in Super Sires for one year, the Enrollment Fee decreases the year after death to $500.   A donated breeding OR $500 No Sale Fee is still required.  In the unfortunate event of the passing of your enrolled stallion, please contact the Super Sires office and we will make the necessary adjustments to adjust subsequent year’s Enrollment Fees.

If your stallion is deceased and has never been enrolled in Super Sires, the standard Enrollment Fee would need to be paid for the stallion’s year of death. Enrollment Fee for subsequent years would be $500 plus a donated breeding OR $500 No Sale Fee. Please see the DECEASED STALLION ENROLLMENT FORM on our FORMS page.
